If you are one of those social nerds, who is fond of sharing your location while tweeting, it’s sad news for all the twitter users globally, as you won’t be able to do that, in the near future.

Twitter has removed this location sharing feature while tweeting. There was a Twitter feature which allows you to show your location, while you are tweeting.

But in the recent announcement by Twitter, they stated that this feature will be no more available in the coming days.

According to Twitter, they are removing this feature due to the lack of usability. Still, this feature would be available when you post any picture through a Twitter camera.

Twitter said, “Most people don’t tag their precise location in Tweets, so we’re removing this ability to simplify your Tweeting experience.”

If you don’t want to use that feature under the twitter’s camera section then you can disable this “tweet with a location” feature in its “privacy and safety” section.

If you see this from the privacy point of view, then it is a good thing because some people don’t want to share their location while tweeting. Sharing your location on the social platform makes you vulnerable and letting strangers know your precise location is not advisable.

What Twitter Claims!

In the latest Tweet, they are only removing the “precise location feature”. Still, people would be able to add a location to all tweet via  Geotagging i.e FourSquare and Yelp.

This would be quite helpful for you to keep you up to date. Related to local happening while visiting the new location.

Twitter only removed this “precise location” feature only because most of the people were showing disinterest. Not only that, it was not contributing to the overall tweeting experience too.

Let’s see, to what extent, this action would add advantage or disadvantage to Twitter, time will tell.
