Finally! It is implemented and the effects are pretty much visible.
What is implemented? And what effects are you talking about?
Dude! Don’t you know about the NEW DOMAIN AUTHORITY 2.0? Get yourself updated. (Read here about it)
Gosh! There has been so much of buzz to what will happen and when. Now, it has Finally Happened!
MOZ implemented it’s newly updated DA metric on March 5, 2019, as announced in Feb 2019.
With the implementation of the Domain Authority 2.0 metric, MOZ clearly stated to consider this as a relative metric.
DA 2.0 works on the machine learning based model. It provides predictive scores for domains. Higher the score, higher the chance to rank in Google SERP. But, this does not signify in any case that the Domain Authority is a ranking factor. Domain Authority is only used by one domain to outrank the other. Domain Authority works in correlation with the Search Rankings.
Heading forward to the Implemented Domain Authority 2.0 Effects, who would have thought it will be like this?
Before I say anything further, I would like to show you what Mr. Sunny Deval tweeted after observing his domain’s new DA effect:
Also, check what Mr. Mohammad Anzul has to say for his Blog Domain:
Well! Seeing the above two mentions, you must have got a little idea that DA Score isn’t anything that was under your control.
There is a change in both PA and DA of websites. Some of the websites have a phenomenal change in their PA and DA. For some this update has brought a rapid rise, while others have experienced a fall in their PA and DA.
If you observe the numbers, you will notice that after the implementation of DA2.0, there is an increase in Page Authority(PA) for some domains and no particular change in Domain Authority(DA).
And here, there is a huge change in the DA and PA as well.
The above two facts clearly make the difference visible. Some domains have witnessed a huge rise in PA/DA or both and some have been blabbering for the downfall in their domain score.
Moz Domain Authority 2.0 and Google Rank are Independent and Correlated.
You must know that MOZ has claimed itself that DA metric is no factor for the Google Ranking. DA only provides you the metric for comparing your domain with your competitors as before this Google PageRank was used. And, Moz uses its own data set and algorithms to train and implement this metric.”
Moz is well aware of the need for dynamic SEO Tools. So, it implemented this update keeping the criteria intact.
Link Manipulation With Moz Domain Authority 2.0
As per many marketers, SEO experts, and link sellers, if you have noticed a fall in your DA score after the new implementation, then, one major reason could be the use of too many random backlinks. So, to upgrade your DA score and increase your domain value, you are required to acquire high-quality backlinks. To achieve this, some bizarre link sellers even targeted to spam the Domain authority. But, eventually, they failed in their heinous efforts and this instead resulted in the increase of the Domain Authority.
Link Sellers With Moz Domain Authority 2.0
Earlier, link sellers were not so keen on Google rankings. Their main focus was to sell links. But, with the updated metrics, they have to rank in Google to sell links. Else, they’ll be easily detected through Moz Neural Network. So, it will be great to see what next step these marketers prefer to take.
Comment Spammers With Moz Domain Authority 2.0
Moz DA 2.0 effectively managed to present approx 34% downfall in the Comment Spammer Domain Authority score. It will actually be great to see a further downfall in this score.
Wrapping Up!
Domain Authority 2.0 has brought a more dynamic approach rather than static rank prediction. Moz Domain Authority 2.0 has shaken the online marketers from head to toe with the fluctuating PA and DA scores. Furthermore, let’s see the drop in some of the domains DA score as measured by MOZ itself:
- Random domains have noticed approx 6% drop in their Domain Authority.
- Link buyer’s welcomed new Domain Authority with a down score of 16.2% while the link sellers witnessed the downfall of 56% in Domain Authority score.
- 34% drop in score is also noticed for the comment spammers.
- On average, 61% drop was attained for High-quality Auction domains, 95% in mid-quality auction domains and 97% in low-quality auction domains.
- Link networks witnessed 79% decrease while Domain Networks saw a 97% fall in DA score.
Let us see how much this new implementation will be preferred among marketers or will more criticism follow.
