Get ready for September 2019 Core Update – Google Announcement

A few hours back Google shared a tweet on @searchliaison about updating its broad core algorithm.

Google is known for bringing constant changes to its Broad Core algorithm, the main goal is to improve the user experience of searching for information.

Let me take you back into January 17, 2018, when Google updated the Broad Core algorithm for “Speed Update”

As Google speaks:

We aim to confirm such updates when we feel there is actionable information that webmasters, content producers or others might take in relation to them.

What is actually the Broad Core Algorithm Update?

Many might have a doubt what actually Broad Core Algorithm update is. You may have heard about other algorithms of Google such as Panda, Penguin, Pigeon, Fred, etc. which covered specific faults and issues. Like Penguin checked the link spam and so on.

Unlike these algorithms, Broad Core Algorithm focuses on slight tweaks to the main search algorithm itself.

There are hundreds of ranking signals that Google considers and, any change in the values of these signals can be considered as a Broad Core Algorithm Update.

When we’ll see this update in action?

According to Google’s Danny Sullivan, the update has already rolled out and will take a few days to complete.

As webmasters and SEO experts get ready to see sudden changes, in terms of rank gain or drops, the update will start taking effect

Key Points to note

At this point in time, I can’t say any specific result or change that will impact you but you can have a generalized overview in terms of changes as site owners:

  • Widely noticeable effects on SERP rankings.
  • As Google has named it “broad”, it might not target anything in specific but focus on improving the overall system of  Google.
  • If some pages are affected and show a major drop in the ranking, it does not mean they have been penalized.
  • Whatever update might come but Google will always follow the policy of providing high-quality content to its users.

Final Words

Sites might take time to recover from this update. The only option left with SEO Experts is to wait and watch the effects and try to make the necessary updates.
